I wonder if we schedule something on a weekend – would that make it easier to get more of us together at the same time, as we'll be negating work commitments (but be intruding on family/friend time).
I'm keen to figure something out.

Quote:Sounds good to me , however Sunday 10am till 1pm Eartern Standard time is totally out for me, any other time on the weekend I could schedule it in , even if your Sunday falls on my Monday that is good for me also
July 28, 2010 at 1:55 am #10439Wow, someone gets a gold star today, Martin!!!
I don't know about everyone else here on Insomnia Land, specifically, but I know my friends and such, and the most likely time they are available to chat are during those few, rare, special “dead” times on weekends (e.g. Sunday morning, pre-Church or no-Church, Sunday evening (everyone winding down and at home usually, in prep. for new work week.)
If someone is really savvy they can calculate the time difference and time it so N. America and its geographic neighbors, and Europe and its geographic neighbors can be both early morning dead-time + evening/night dead-time = perfect time for everyone.
(And please, don't get offended, I know and am proud this is an international forum, I am not forgetting Australia, or even Luxembourg (anyone from the Lux??? LOL.) But seriously, if we could find that magical hour, since, I've noticed the time zones of a lot of people could theoretically correspond at the right time calculation, that would be ten kinds of awesome.

On another note, I realize this was F's post, and I talk to F, he's awesome. But if anyone wants my contact info, I can always use new chat buddies. Twitter is great and all, but I prefer IM, the dying art. Message me or post here directly assuming I haven't been overly off-putting to you.)

July 29, 2010 at 9:03 pm #10440OK, well let me start throwing some suggestions out there and getting feedback.
How about Sundays, at 4pm Eastern? That is:
1pm Pacific Daylight Time
4pm Eastern Daylight Time
9pm British Summer Time
Feedback please!

July 30, 2010 at 12:18 am #10441Yup that sounds good…although perhaps an email reminder would be a good for people with forgettories and not memories!

emmaree – 4pm Eastern is 6am the following day in Sydney (I think). So confusing. I imagine that might be a bit difficult for you?

August 4, 2010 at 5:39 am #10447If that makes it Monday morning 6am ,I'm good to go , I have a slot of about 2 hours there,,before my day gets hectic 🙂
August 7, 2010 at 6:06 am #10448This sounds good – let me see if I can arrange this to take place in a couple of weeks to give everyone a lot of notice. I'll fire off an email to all members after the weekend and see if we can schedule a live chat with the previously mentioned day/time towards the end of August. If it's successful, we can make it a regular thing.
