      Hello,

Im a mom to a four month old baby and have anxiety and insomnia waiting for him to wake up in the night. Im exhausted. I can’t nap because my anxiety is super high. I’ve been through anxiety/insomnia bouts before but it’s majorly hard when I’ve got an infant waking me up. Im breastfeeding too and he doesn’t take bottles so I’m on the hook. Am I going to die without sleep? Am I going to go crazy? Worrying about sleep is consuming me. Can anyone relate/offer encouragement?

You aren’t alone, Tiredmom — many parents of young children go through exactly what you are experiencing right now.

Of course, there’s not a whole lot you can do to prevent your baby from waking you at night but there are many things you can do to help create good conditions for sleep and to help you respond to nighttime wakefulness and all the difficult thoughts and feelings that come with it in a more workable way.
