i've been doing the brainwave entrainment stuff since early august 2012. a pattern for my sleep cycles is emerging. i usually get about 3 hour of sleep, then about 3 hours of being awake, then going into this and that (which is napping or something else depending how KEEN i am on doing my projects).
November 1, 2012 at 5:35 pm #14226Yea that is about what I average but with a few nights of 6 hours, probably from exhaustion. Getting set up for brainwave is kind of expensive $29.95 for ear buds, and $45 + for the cd's. A bit much for a retired fixed income senior to invest for a maybe. I did find a low cost brainwave sleep cd on the internet so I think I will leave the CPAP off a few nights and use my regular ear buds to see what happens. Thanks for your reply Molly.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. Check out a recent blog post I wrote:

Regular earbuds should work just fine. No need to splash out for anything fancy.
Be careful with the low cost stuff you find floating around on the internet – many rely on binaural beats, which is an older technology and less effective than modern sessions that rely on isochronic tones.
Also, make sure any product you buy comes with a money back guarantee.

November 2, 2012 at 12:55 am #14228I do not have any info on the one I downloaded but it sounds similar to to the one offered by your competitor. I do already have some ear buds but worry about them staying in. Hope this helps a bit then when your set becomes available I can get it and a pillow speaker. Tonight is the trial, wish me well.
November 2, 2012 at 2:55 am #14229Good luck – let us know how you get on!

November 2, 2012 at 10:44 am #14230The jury is out and calling for more evidence. 6.5 hours of good sleep. The earbuds would not stay in so probably only had 1/2 hour of brainwave, I say that not knowing since I went to sleep quickly. Slept through the night without waking but after 2 bad nights in a row that is not unusual. Had a spinal block Wed. and have a lot less pain which is also helping. All in all starting out the day well.
November 2, 2012 at 10:58 am #142316.5 hours is amazing, keep it up
November 2, 2012 at 1:54 pm #14232Really pray it continues but been there before, many times over many years. Had a thought and wonder if this is a result of my 20 years in the military with all that sporadic sleep?
November 3, 2012 at 2:28 pm #14233this is Molly. i thought that no one (except MARTIN) read my posts 🙄 thanks kennycm

November 3, 2012 at 4:51 pm #14235now that we have this thread going i'm going to tell you ALL (of 2 folks listening SO FAR) about my trying so HARD to go OFF my sleep meds.
5 aug 2012 i was taking: Ativan (lorizapam?) 2mg, Temazepam 30mg + Seroquel 25mg
my going off ATIVAN HAD DRAMATIC results. TERRIBLE DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS, wonderful other chronic health problem changes. (TOO COMPLICATED TO GO INTO NOW)
now i'm trying equally hard to go off the TEMAZ + SERO
yesterday was BAD! i was fine until about 11am then started into this awful digestive stuff and wierdo thought processes. by eve i was REALLY NAUSEATED!! stupid me, i kept on thinking I CAN DO THIS!! i've DONE THIS BEFORE!!! it didn't dawn on me until about 12 midnight that I CAN'T DO THIS this fast. so i gave in and took the dreaded TEMAZ and used my sleepTrack to get a really good sleep. WHEW  🙄 😮 😎
molly
November 3, 2012 at 5:00 pm #14236want to add: SOURDOUGH BREAD seems to help the digestive stuff will add more as i find out what the names are 😕

November 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm #14238I feel so much better since I quit the meds, both OTC and perscrption. I feel more rested and no morning hangover and surprise surprise, I do not miss them. Granted I have been off them a couple of weeks but with the help of the 2 week course I am getting some sleep, no cure yet but a lot better. Good luck Molly.
November 5, 2012 at 12:17 am #142393 hours seems to be the magic # for me. i just had a nap and it was 3 hours long.
