There doesn’t seem to be any correlation with the typical advice you find (caffeine, exercise, anxiety, etc) and whether or not I will have a good night’s sleep or not. Here’s my situation:

Any given week I get about 1-2 nights of very good sleep, and 5-6 nights of poor sleep. Those 5-6 nights are characterized by waking up about 12 times during the night. Wake up about every half hour and don’t seem to get into a good lengthy deep sleep. This has been going on for a few years. I’m 50yo. The 1-2 nights of good sleep I only wake up 2 or 3 times and the rest of the night I’m oblivious and get into good lengthy deep sleeps and sleep 8 hours and the next day is a joy because I feel fully awake and clear-headed and refreshed.

So I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts about this pattern and any tips and tricks I haven’t already tried that might help.

What does your sleep schedule look like? What time do you usually go to bed at night and what time do you usually get up to start your day in the mornings? Do these times usually vary?
