I can only sleep for 2 or 3 hours a night before waking up. My mouth is always dry so I wake up and take a sip of water. I have a CPAP machine that I use as much as I can. Because of drinking the water I have to urinate in the middle of the night. I moved down to Tennessee from Pennsylvania and I have allergy issues. Once I wake up I can not get back to sleep most nights. I try going to bed early and I try going to bed later with the same results. I am 73 years old. I am a US Army Viet Nam veteran with PTSD. Most nights after an hour or 2 I go out into the living room and turn on the TV. I want to avoid medications if at all possible. I am going to try to stay away from the recliner after breakfast and start working out side and possibly start walking a couple miles to get some exercise and possibly break the cycle. I am 6ft tall and weigh 310 lbs. I purchased a new bass boat and a new camper within the last year. Other than being way over weight the VA says I am in good health. Can you help me?

Welcome to the forum, Rich! What time do you normally go to bed at night and what time do you usually get out of bed to start your day in the morning? When you wake at night, why do you think you find it hard to fall back to sleep?
