      Hi there

I have been struggling with chronic insomnia for nearly a year now. I have tried almost every herbal, chinese or natural medication available and few have given me any results. As a last resort my psychiatrist put me on stillnox. I have been using this for the last few weeks and getting around 3-4 hours sleep. Unfortunately as most will know, these are not for long term use. My insomnia orignates in a general anxiety I have had for some years which has been exascerbated by three retina eye operations , dry eye and dry mouth syndrome which I have to put up with. I must say however that my sleep patterns over the last few years has not been great – the most sleep I have ever gotten is 6 hours.

I've always had low level anxiety Martin( and had occasional insomnia)- The insomnia came on when I had to give up work when I had a corneal graft op in my left eye and two retinal detacments in the other. I could hardly see. I couldnt work – I loved my job and had little to do with myself during the day . Consqeuently the anxiety escalated- My sleep went down to 4 hours- then two hours – then nothing for a time..

          cheers

          Michael
