I hope this forum will help me to understand that I am not alone with insomnia and get some tips how to overcome it. I am 29, it started > 6 months ago with a new job, however it is still here, and it is cruel. Before that I was perfectly sleeping my 8-9 hours per night, never experiencing anything close to insomnia. I implemented all the rules of sleep hygiene without much success. Some nights I can’t fall asleep during 3-4 h in the bed, despite being tired, some nights not at all. Sometimes I fall asleep in a moment, but wake up in the middle of the night and can’t sleep more. The worst part is that I am afraid now I will never beat it at all, I worry about the consequences of bad (or no) sleep, etc. I do not like to give up and want to

I fully identify. Despite fatigue, sleep is often impossible.

You are definitely NOT alone and you are not going through anything unique or unusual — sometimes it can be helpful to listen to the insomnia stories of others because we might then recognize how similar our insomnia is to that of others. If we also hear how others (who had the same insomnia as us) improved their sleep, it can provide us with hope, reassurance, and confidence!

          You CAN sleep!
