      Hi everyone,

glad to be a part of this community. Martin, thank you so much for hosting such an incredible podcast – it’s been such a life saviour at times. I’ve been struggling with insomnia for as long as I can remember, I also have an official OCD diagnosis and they intertwine a lot. These past couple of weeks have been unbearable, and the insomnia has been really getting out of hand. The anxiety just cripples me all day long, I have so much trouble focusing on anything else. Now that we’re back into isolation it’s making it especially hard to get out and get my mind off of it – I basically think about it all day long and then when I get into bed I’m so anxious my mind just can’t shut off, I get a few hours at best.

I guess I’m just looking for some advice, I feel so alone in this.

      Thank you!
      Matt

You are not alone, Matt — and it’s normal to find your mind wandering and to find it more difficult to focus when you have difficult nights.

Quite often, difficult thoughts become most problematic when we try to fight or avoid them — because we have no control over the stuff our mind chooses to generate.
