Hello everyone, my name is Crystal and I’ve been struggling with insomnia since March of this year. I stopped breastfeeding my son in late February, and my hormones went a little crazy (I already suffer from anxiety, so I knew I was prone to getting postpartum anxiety). I’ve had anxiety for years, but never experienced insomnia until this year. I had a night where I did not sleep at all, just laid in bed having awful anxiety, and I have been battling sleep anxiety ever since. I am on an anxiety medication (low dose of buspirone) that I take everyday, and I have a low dose of Xanax to take at night to fall asleep. I am down to just taking a very small piece of the Xanax pill, but I tried to not take it at all the other night and I had horrible anxiety and had to take it. My goal is to be off of the Xanax completely. My biggest struggle is falling asleep, though I do wake up frequently as well. I’m looking forward to gaining insight and just being able to talk with people who understand how hard this struggle is. Thanks for reading!

        Welcome to the forum, Crystal!

How are you currently responding to that anxiety when it shows up? How much sleep would you say you average each night and what time do you go to bed at night and what time do you get out of bed to start your day in the morning?
