      Hi there, my name is Sabrina, and I have been struggling with insomnia for six months or so. I believe there are hormonal changes going on with me, but I also had Covid in the spring, and ever since then, I started having more significant sleep disruption (not sure if it was the stress of Covid or maybe inflammation?). Unfortunately, the problem has seemed to get worse instead of better, and I cannot fall asleep until 2, 3, or 4 am multiple nights per week, which has thrown my life into complete upheaval since I am a teacher who needs to get up early and be mentally alert to lead my classes. I also developed pretty bad anxiety (already prone to bouts of anxiety and depression, but insomnia exacerbated them considerably), but the Trazodone I’ve been on for the past few weeks seems to have evened out my mood. I decided to reduce my work schedule next semester for the first time in my life in order to hopefully have more space to get to the bottom of what is going on and follow through on various sources of help, such as all of Martin’s incredible resources as well as work with a functional medicine doctor. Any advice or support would be much appreciated! This has been a hard time for me.
