      I’m delighted to have discovered this forum. As soon as I came across information by Martin Reed on insomnia and I lisinted to some podcasts I felt I came across very valuable information that will help me to get over my insomnia.

          Hello @mango!

          Not sure what you want to hear from others. I suggest you read the success stories, there’s plenty of inspirations there. But ultimately, don’t seek to listen to other people’s stories just to justify your insecurity that you are not alone. This is “safety-reinforcing” behavior which just perpetuates your fear. Because people do this only if they are afraid and try to seek safety in numbers. And if you are afraid, you won’t overcome your insomnia. Insomnia feeds on the fear of not sleeping well. If you want to recover, you first need to stop fearing. Good luck!

              Thanks Martin.
              I’m implementing sleep restriction since about 3 nights only with already amazing results. I’ve extended my bedtime for a few hours and I get really sleepy. I haven’t experienced this feeling since the insomnia started. it’s a wonderful feeling. I thought that feeling would never return. so basically that’s the major change at the moment with results after the first night. from only 2 hours sleep or no sleep at all to 5 hours of sleep with only one wake up. incredible. thank you for providing me with this information. I feel alive again and I feel this tremendous burden has suddenly been lifted. I have been to so many practitioners since the insomnia started and no one ever mentioned CBTI. thank you. thank you. this information is so valuable.

                a little addition: I thought I had to work on my insecurity or fear around sleeping first in order for sleep to return but the opposite has happened. My sleep is returning and at the same time my fear is leaving. Interesting indeed.
