I have always been a good sleeper, at 65 I considered that a real privelage. Recently due to a Blood Pressure/ Heart Racing health issue that woke me in early morning hours the end of Feb 2022, my sleep has suffered the last 2 months. I have a hard time getting to sleep and or staying asleep. I have tried OTC sleep meds, but don’t like to use them at all. It is enough now trying to adjust to my BP meds, which is slow but getting better each day. I was doing various things to sleep meditation apps, breathwork, EFT (tapping) etc. Trying to “fix” my sleep. After seeing the short videos I have changed my approach. I was putting too much effort into it.
I found Insomnia Coach looking for help and love the videos they all speak to my issues with sleep. I know I am not alone & I don’t feel as desperate now. I know I WILL sleep again!! I also have passed this along to family & friends that have had sleep issues for years.

        PJ,

I’m glad you found the resources on this site and Martin’s YouTube channel beneficial. You summed up a key difference between good sleepers and those experiencing insomnia: those with sleep disturbances tend to “put too much effort into sleeping”. Sleep is one of those rare things in life that doesn’t reward hard work and the harder we try, the more difficult sleep becomes for us. It’s encouraging to see your positive attitude! If you have questions along the way, let us know!
