New to insomnia

      Hi … after asking my wife for help in finding a forum where I can connect with others experiencing the same sleep deprivation (thats what im calling it, I can go two to three days without a single second of sleep, she found this place. I was relieved to find out I wasnt going to die. After three days with zero sleep and the fourth night only 2 hours of sleep I was a complete mess. I scour the internet for help and all i find is that sleep deprivation can kill you in as little as four days and I fell apart and was convinced I was going to die. It didnt help that my heart felt very weak. I have slept just fine all my life until out of nowhere I get hit with this complete inability to sleep. Im considering purchasing his program does it work?

        Hi Vic,
        Glad your wife found this forum. I must have read the same information that you did about the lack of sleep. The sad thing about it, that it also makes sleep worse. I have got to sleep, or I will die. I currently have so many things to do before I go to sleep, that I never did before. I can see a lot of me in what you have posted, 3 days zero sleep will do a number on you. Please read the success stories, it will give you a lot of hope that this is a temporary thing. I can’t speak to if the program works as I am not a client yet.

          Welcome to the forum!

          I think it’s important (and hopefully helpful!) to mention that sleep deprivation is not the same as chronic insomnia.

          Sleep always happens in the end — it’s impossible to stay awake indefinitely (even though it sure can feel that way at times).

          What can make sleep more difficult are all our understandable attempts to create it, to get rid of wakefulness when it shows up, and/or to fight or avoid the difficult thoughts and feelings that often come with insomnia (at night and during the day, too).

          Since we cannot directly or permanently control sleep or what we think and how we feel, all our attempts to do so can create a struggle that can make things more difficult.

          My course focuses on how to move away from the struggle so that we can create and maintain good conditions for sleep and better live the kind of life we want to live even in the presence of this difficult stuff.
