      Hi All,

      I have just joined. I have suffered with insomnia for the last few years in my late 40s. I have spent a lot of time looking for a cause and fearful of even admitting I have insomnia in fear of it being real. It has had so much control over me and eating away at a great life I have.

      Last night after being unable to sleep I decided something needs to change. I know it’s driven by a fear or anxiety of not sleeping. I am hoping to do the 6 week course offered by Martin.

      Please can I ask you all after participating in the course what would you say are your top learnings that have really helped you?

      To start with I am going to focus on:
      1. Surrendering and not trying to let sleep happen
      2. Enjoyed the days that follow

        Hello and welcome to the forum.

        Learning to let go is very important. Keep the focus, not on sleep, but on life. Sleep isn’t everything because it doesn’t define who you are or what you are truly capable of.

          Hi Charlotte.
          I think you’re taking a good step to choose that approach. I’ve been going through your experience off and on for years as well, and it really pays off to fully focus on acceptance, on NOT trying to (obsessively) manage the pre, during and post sleep process actively….It sound easy, the theory is simple, but it takes willpower and persistence. Have you watched the videos on his YouTube channel? I devoured them, and they are good in so many ways. My approach is to take 1 or 2 key points from the stories, then actively implement them, practice with them. It works.
          What do you feel is your biggest challenge to overcome this?
