I always thought I was a poor sleeper, then the vicious cylcle happened out of the blue. It’s only been a month and a half for me, but I feel like all of my precious time and energy normally devoted to other things has been stolen by insomnia. I’m in CBT-I now and started sleep restriction therapy yesterday. It’s daunting to know that it will likely take months to feel normal again. I don’t know how anyone can do this for years, let alone decades. It’s brutal.

Anyone have any good tips for staying busy and awake during the day?

Although it’s not usually helpful to compare your progress to others, most people will experience improvements in their sleep within a couple of months.

When it comes to tips for staying busy and awake during the day, what did you do before you experienced insomnia?
