      Hi everyone. I came across this site after googling CBT-I. I have loved listening to all the podcasts and then came across the forum. Looking forward to hearing from others in regards to success stories and to be able to be heard and not feel so alone as when you suffer from insomnia it can be very isolating and you feel you are the only one going through it. I have had insomnia for about 15 years and probably have spent at least $15,000 AUS$ on books, supplements, Natropaths and anything else related to sleep. Some have worked a few times but not long term and then the frustration and anxiety gets worse. Looking forward to hearing from others and being part of this forum.

        I have found the youtube videos very helpful too.
        One day I am going to make a list of all the ‘cures’ I have purchased over the years – it will make 3 pages at least !

          This sounds familiar Roshy! I’ve lost count of the things I’ve tried. My long journey with insomnia (circa 10-12 years) has led me to the conclusion that there is no miracle supplement or miracle pill. Even when I thought I’d found the miracle pill (Mirtazapine) a year later and it has stopped working in the same way. I truly believe that CBT-i is the best shot we have of being able overcome it.

            It has been said that the average person lives with chronic insomnia for 10 years before finding cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).

            That’s a real shame and is down to the fact that information on CBT-I isn’t as widely available as it should be, and there aren’t enough people out there familiar enough or trained in CBT-I techniques to support people with insomnia who want to implement the recommended and recognized first-line treatment for chronic insomnia!

            The good news is, you are now familiar with CBT-I — so it’s something you can try! If you recognize your experience with insomnia in any of the guests on the Insomnia Coach Podcast, then there’s no reason to believe you won’t be as successful as they were because your insomnia is just the same as theirs was!

              Roshy, I have also spent a ton of money on things to reverse insomnia, and yet here I am, still really suffering with it. I’m learning a lot and beginning to implement what I learn. I’m determined to leave insomnia behind by using CBTI. I hope you’ll check in here again.
