Hi everyone, just a quick introduction as it's my first time posting here. I'm a mother of young triplets and I've suffered from varying degrees of insomnia on and off for about 20 years, way before my trips came along and had a good go at keeping me up most nights!! I have never actually been involved with a community of fellow sufferers so this is probably well overdue! Even though insomnia is a widespread kind of problem it still has the knack of making you (well, it does me) feel quite alone with it at times. I'm always under the impression that people I mix with in day to day life don't suffer from it and would think i'm quite nutty if i told them the kinds of rituals i've been known to go through to get some sleep! I'm sure this impression is largely illusion and perhaps insomnia is just one of those kinds of problems no one really likes to admit to or talk openly about (because it in some way makes us feel a bit abnormal??). But whatever the reason, until now i haven't managed to meet other insomniacs who know where i'm coming from when i've hit a real low with it after a wave of bad nights and i'm hoping that talking to and getting to know you guys might help to put things into perspective a little (when i'm losing it in that all too familiar tired haze!) Likewise i'd love to feel i could be there for others of you who are struggling becasue i do really know how hard this problem can be to live with at times…..
