      Hi there,
For the past 4 days, I worry so much that I get zero sleep one night then the next night I’ll be super tired and really desperate and then I’d somehow manage to sleep for 5 hrs, then repeat. I want to be able to sleep and feel sleepy every night not every other night and I want to stop worrying about not sleeping. Any advice on how to get there?
Another thing I am finding very difficult is when I wake up in the middle of the night. I find it really hard to fall back asleep even though I feel relaxed, my mind seems to be wide awake the minute I’m up(I remember when I use to wake up during the and still be so sleepy). I’d look at the time and try to sleep again but can’t. I feel like it’s because I know I will struggle and then I struggle. What can I do or remind myself so that I can fall back asleep again?

I think you should try the paradoxical intention method.

You might find this video helpful if you haven’t seen it yet: How to stop the sleep roller coaster and make sleep more consistent and more predictable.

In terms of what to do or remind yourself when you wake during the night, it might be helpful to move away from “trying” to make sleep happen and it might be useful to remind yourself that waking during the night is a normal part of sleep.
