      Hi there,

I am utilizing a sleep window of 11:00 to 5:15. My concern is I was having great success whilst practising sleep restriction. By that I mean, I would go to sleep quickly, stay asleep and wake up to the alarm at 5:15. The last week I am recognizing sleepiness and can hardly stay awake until my sleep time at 11:00 PM. I find myself drifting off while enjoying wind down time knitting and watching Xmas movies. And I must say at the beginning of following CBT-I I had a hard time recognizing sleepiness over fatigue and I think it was because I had lost the ability to feel sleepy. My main concern though is I am not waking up feeling refreshed and this often happens every other night.

Hello there, I experienced the same thing you did. Your sleep window may be too short. Are you currently sleeping through all of your sleep window? Spending much of the time in bed asleep? If so, it may be time to increase the time you allow for sleep either by going to bed earlier or waking up later.

As suggested by Chee, it might be worth extending that sleep window a little! When you wake and feel unrefreshed, does that feeling change as the day progresses?
