I developed insomnia 2 years ago after a toxic relationship started to self destruct. It took me to my lowest point, but with the help of anti anxiety meds, dabbling with many different off label sleeping meds, and moving to my own place, I was able to pull myself into a place where I get 7-8 hours of sleep with only a natural supplement and the odd anti histamine. Sadly on this journey I started tracking my sleep with a Fitbit, and I am now addicted to the data to the point that it is negatively impacting my mental health to wear this thing night after night, and searching for the perfect night’s sleep. I don’t care at this stage for how many hours, it’s become that I’m obsessed with getting 1.5 hours of REM and Deep, and when I fall short of that, it ruins my entire quality of life and I obsess over it almost every minute. Help! Will I ever be able to just sleep and trust my body and how I feel instead of looking at a stupid device to validate my sense of well being?

Hello, I have had a similar issue in terms of tracking. I have stopped wearing my Fitbit to sleep, I just use it purely to track steps now. Maybe this is something you can try?
