I am in the same boat right now . Experienced some sleep disruption at 6 weeks postpartum , tried several supplements and sleep hygiene and nothing worked . Finally I was prescribed mirtazapine 7.5mg which is off label sedative. Took it for a month and stopped it as gained some confidence and wanted to come off of the medication to sleep. insomnia came back and I started back on the meds. Now my sleep is not that great, waking up too early and tough to fall back to sleep even if I do it’s a fragmented sleep afterwards.
I am asked to take mirtazapine for minimum 3 months , I am doing meditation regularly and did few therapy sessions.also planning to take insomnia course . Hoping I will gain full confidence on my sleep system someday and be able to come off of med.
