What do you think is the most overrated movie of all time? If you think there is more than one, feel free to share a list. Mine has to be Million Dollar Baby. I just don't get the critical acclaim it received. I also think Black Swan was overrated, too.
Now, over to you!

June 6, 2011 at 7:46 pm #12588Watched and enjoyed both Million Dollar Baby and Black Swan…but they were hyped way too much in my humble opinion.
Paranormal Activity and The Last Exorcism are 2 movies that were HUGELY overrated…both of them were truly amazingly awful on many levels.
June 6, 2011 at 9:00 pm #12589Oh yeah, how could I forget Paranormal Activity. Definitely no Blair Witch – to this day, that's the only movie that has ever scared me.

June 6, 2011 at 9:27 pm #12590Blair Witch scared you….really? Damn. I've never watched a horror movie that has genuinely scare me so far 😛
June 6, 2011 at 9:33 pm #12591Yup, the only one to ever do that to me to this very day. Not as scary on a second viewing but I'll never forget the first time I saw it. Wow.
I think it's the type of movie that either terrifies you or bores you. I've never come across anyone with an opinion in between the two extremes.

June 7, 2011 at 12:00 pm #12592Anything that doesn't have Clint Eastwood, Gary Cooper or John Wayne in it is over-rated!
June 7, 2011 at 2:51 pm #12593Avatar, Paranormal Activity (I laughed more at this film than anything!) I haven't seen Black Swan but it looked like film where most of the best bits were put in the trailer! Hate it when they ruin a film by showing all the good bits in trailers!
Most old horror films are overrated but I guess back in the day they would have been considered scary or whatever but now they look as scary as wallace and gromit! haha
June 8, 2011 at 1:39 am #12594Inception. Only positive thing about seeing that movie is I paid half price for my ticket.
June 8, 2011 at 8:23 am #12595I've just blogged about the banning of Human Centipede 2…and I forgot to mention here that the first movie seemed to shock a lot of people and made some physically sick….but I was bored rigid and didn't really see what was so special about it.

I quite liked inception. It confused my ex though and she hated it!

I was looking forward to seeing an intelligent action film and instead, I got a complete mess. I was really disappointed.

Apparently the first one is like My Little Pony compared to the sequel. Probably the best thing to happen to that movie from the maker's viewpoint was having it banned – millions in free publicity and hype.

I totally agree in regards to the publicity, and the first movie was apparently supposed to be so very, very bad but I didn't see where at all….the banning of this sequel will also be great publicity for the first movie too and could boost sales.
However, I've always believe you should be able to choose what you watch….although baning it won't stop people, they will import it, or download it illegally.
June 19, 2011 at 10:33 am #12600Add ANOTHER to the collection….Predators.
I got the Predator trilogy on BluRay and love the first 2 movies…the third one just doesn't hold me interest. It could have been good, but it's not.
June 20, 2011 at 6:08 pm #12601I was disappointed by the second one – I thought they went more for gore than an actual story. Same thing with Robocop 2.
