Hello, the last 6 days i slept good, interupted sleep 1-2 times at night but fall asleep faster, i know and understand because of this GREAT FORUM and Martin that i dont have problems with sleeping, just my sleeping anxiety that made me awake last 4 months. Last night (7th. night) i’ve got just 1 hour sleep, because my mind was monitoring my sleep and i know that, that was the main problem not because my mind is broken. I dont follow any rules, but i have some kind of Sleep Window, i go to bad at 23-23:30-00:00, and i get out of the bad at 7-30-8 at the morning, somedays i get out of the bad at 9, because i wake up at the 5:00 and than when i fall asleep again, if i forgot to turn my alarm, i am sleeping till 9, or i am laying in the bad because i feel ok and relaxed.
Can i keep going with the same “SW”, because beside of my last night, the last week was good, or i need to be strict and get out of the bad at the same minute everyday?
I recognize in the past months that the actions, living the life no matter the night, go exercising, go out with friends, working…ect, and go to bad when you are sleepy or relaxed is the key for overcoming insomnia. But if you think that strict SW is the best way for going out of this faster i am all in, because thanks God, the last two weeks my anxiety about sleeping is lower than at beggining and i am so willing to overcome this.

The key to overcoming insomnia is always your mindset. It’s not the constantly tinkering around the SW because yes, you can continue on your SW and this won’t affect your future sleep at all or endlessly asking questions on what to do. It’s not caring how you slept anymore. If you could forget or ignore your problem, then it isn’t there anymore. Sleeping 1 or 8 hours doesn’t bother you at all and you stop catastrophizing about future sleep. Good luck and best wishes!

Thank you for the replay Chee, you are a great support here!!!!
I agree with everything that you said, and i know that if someone earse my memory, and fears about sleeping, i will sleep again like my whole life… its much better now than my lowest period but my fears floating around again even if i slept 6 days in a row… but i know everything is a proces, so i am looking forward to the state of mind when i dont give a **** about my sleep, and be able not to think, when i watch football/ TV show… how the player/actor menaged to sleep before playing match/shooting movie. 🙂
          Have a great day!

The fears and worries are normal (they’re a symptom of your brain looking out for you!) and yet they can only have a negative affect on your life if you allow them to control your actions. If you can continue to engage in activities that are aligned with your values and help you be the person you want to be (even in the presence of difficult thoughts and feelings) then those fears and worries will have far less of an influence in your life!
