Any postpartum insomnia people out there? After starting to sleep poorly at the end of my fourth pregnancy, and proceeding to not sleep at all the week I was in the hospital for delivery I came home and had a break down because I couldn’t get myself to sleep at all at when I returned home. The first two months were rough, but eventually got a bit better by 5-6 months. However In the last three months my sleep has deteriorated again and I am dependent on both melatonin and Benadryl to fall asleep. And usually need to take it again when I wake up In The middle of the night.I also developed new to me anxiety and panic attacks -most likely primarily due to the insomnia. Anyways, curious to know if there are others with similar stories, it has been a long, rough 9months.

Hello, yes. At around 3 months I started to not be able to sleep and had many nights of zero sleep. It’s awful but somehow I make it through. It sucks though and it ebbs and flows for me. The more I worry, the more I can’t sleep. Typically my insomnia is from other anxieties that I’m not addressing. Then it spirals into me worrying about sleep. Like right now. I didn’t fall asleep until 6:30 in the morning and had like one hour. I have a 5 month old and have been going through bouts on and off During summer. Sometimes I recover and I think why did I even worry? Then bam a bad night triggers me, I react, and then it takes a lot of effort to get back to wher I was. Interesting thing is that I am actually a fantastic sleeper. It’s amazing what anxiety can create. Hugs to you. I might be up all night again I might not be but I’ll be thinking of you
