I did my intro. and now it's time to get into the forum. I have had sleep problems most of my adult life. Had 2 sleep studies and tried so many pills that I lost count. I am supposed to be using a CPAP but it inter-fears with my getting to sleep. Since I joined a week ago there has been a lot of improvement! First time ever that improvement came without drugs or exhaustion. I am even using the CPAP for about 4 hours. I cannot say too much about the training course, it has really helped so far and I look forward to the daily lessons. Getting out of bed when not sleeping and relaxation have been the most helpful and I am going to try sleep music as soon as I can figure out how to do it. Ear buds are a must and the ones I have are uncomfortable to sleep with, any suggestions with this? Now getting a good 4 hours of sleep! and looking for more…

That's brilliant to hear, Kenny, well done! Glad you're getting a half decent sleep finally, please keep us posted!

I can't sleep with earplugs or headphones either, way too uncomfortable. You could always buy a cheap radio/tape cassette player with a small speaker though, have it on your bedside cabinet on low volume.

May I ask what you do when you get out of bed? I make a huge mistake in this area. If I can't sleep, I get out of bed and jump onto the computer and start working. I've become a bit of a workaholic lately so if I can't sleep I'm working.

Irony is, often the reason I can't sleep is because when I lay down all I can think about is working. “I wish I got this done today, if I go do it now it'll be done by morning”.

So I may have to try and force myself to do something else when I get up.

Hi Tommy. I read when get up though I admit it's on my tablet and not paper. Last night I got almost 6 hours, even with the CPAP and leg pain. I did wake up with a headache though. BTW: I am 70 years old and retired for the most part so no pressing work. I do have an old radio I could try, have to talk that over with the wife as it would have to be loud enough to hear with these old ears and the CPAP. Thanks for the tips.

Had a good night last night, 6.5 hours of good sleep with cpap on! That is almost a record, thanks folks, the course is very affective for me. I cannot use brainwave music in my setting unless I use ear buds and with the cpap on it's just too much. The wife must have a fan running because of health issues and the noise means that I have to have the music so loud it bothers her. Now I read about the light therapy, anyone tried it? As an Alaska expatroit this is interesting.

You are welcome. Had another good night last night and did not think I would since I had a very stressful and long day in which I had about 4 hours of driving so I did a no-no, drank 2 cups of regular coffee. I am normally caffeine free. Amazing what a little knowledge can do. A lot of md's never mentioned the things mentioned in the 2 week course.

I had nerve blocks in my back today and cannot wait for bedtime. Woke up at 1am and ripped the CPAP off, dozed painfully for about 2 hours and gave up at 3:30. I think I will be able to ditch the CPAP without the pain, then, I would be able to use Sleep Tracts. Any feedback?
