Especially in the first half of the night, I have trouble quieting myself. Even with using tools such as breathing, body scans, etc. they are helpful, but often not enough to get me to sleep. Thanks

If you’re not sleepy yet, no matter how many relaxation exercises you try, you’re still not going to sleep! I tried all those things and then stopped them completely, and it really had no effect on how well I sleep. The things that helped me were sleep restriction, and learning to stop trying to force sleep to happen. There’s more information about both in the free sleep training you can get on this site. I highly recommend it! Good luck!

Hello Marla and welcome to the forum! As suggested by Vakerue, there’s nothing we can do to make sleep happen other than being awake for long enough!

Can you tell us a bit more about your sleep at the current time? What time do you go to bed at night? What time do you get out of bed to start your day? How many hours of sleep do you get on an average night?
