I have had sleep disturbances on and off my whole life, but recently have been going through a very rough patch of insomnia that has been a huge struggle. For the past month or so, I’ve been getting very little sleep, had trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, all the things. On the one hand, I’m trying to not put pressure on myself to sleep and know that these periods will pass. On the other, I’m trying to be proactive and do as much as I can – treatment options are limited in my area and very expensive, which makes this process feel hopeless. I’m wondering if anyone has any tips for things that have worked for them? I’ve been following some forums/podcasts and haven’t heard much about how to work through extreme fatigue during the day – going to work, the grocery store, even daily chores and how to manage them when any activity feels overwhelming. Also tips on how to explain insomnia to their partner, and things that have worked for them in their relationship while working through these things?

Not great advice here but just doing the best you can is good enough. My therapist told me if others can’t tell you are not performing at 100% it doesn’t matter. Anyway hope this helps.

Hello @Tiredgirl30! Not putting pressure on yourself to make sleep happen is a great start! And, when it comes to sleep, it’s often about doing less rather than doing more.
