Not actually a film, but it would make a good Movie is the 'Brides in the bath murders'. Anyone seen it?
I think this would make a great movie, although serial killers I have always found quite facinating
Might go to cinema today, either that or buy another BRD to watch…

I enjoyed it, saw it both in 2D and 3D and loved it.
I mentioned that I would go and see The Social Network if I got preview tickets…and this morning I was offered preview tickets!! Good times!!

Nice!
My new colleagues are looking at going to see The Social Network (I now work for an online company). Let me know what you think of it.

No worries will do, going Tuesday to see it, not sure who I'm taking with me yet though (I always seem to get 2 tickets!)
Saw Buried yesterday…if you have seen the CSI Episodes “Grave Danger” you know what to expect…basically a man is kidnapped and buried alive….it was not as bad as I thought it would be, and there was a good twist at the end too.
October 8, 2010 at 4:14 am #9115Recently saw The Town – it was OK, a bit ridiculous. Set in Boston and follows a group of bank robbers. One of them falls in love with one of the witnesses, blah blah. Nothing original here, but probably worth a DVD rental. Skip the movie theater, though.
Directed by Ben Affleck, I still can't believe it got 8.1/10 on imdb.
Also watched the Ghost Writer – Ewan McGregor is hired as a replacement ghost writer for the British Prime Minister as the last writer died in mysterious circumstances. Again, an OK movie. Samantha from Sex in the City was terrible in the film, and there was an absolutely TERRIBLE spelling mistake that somehow made it into the movie – when the CNN ticker is shown it says 'Bristish Prime Minister'. Something like that sticks in my mind for the rest of the film!

Hahahaha! Maybe it was an in joke among the post-production crew?
I prefer Ben Affleck as a director then an actor. I base this solely on the fact I thought Gone Baby Gone was really, really good and everything else he's been in has, well, not.
Really disappointed to hear The Town wasn't all that great, but I trust your opinion 😀
October 9, 2010 at 1:21 pm #9117I'm excited to watch the “banned from TV” episode of Family Guy. It's called, “Partial Terms of Endearment” I don't know much about it other than it was banned and released on DVD. I'm a huge Family Guy fan so I'm looking forward to it. I rented it and will let you all know how it is.

Is that the one where Lois becomes a surrogate but then wants an abortion when the parents die? I saw that the other day. It was OK, but there have definitely been better episodes!

Martin– Yep, that's the one.
In other news, I watched “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (the 2010 version.) I'm always skeptical of remakes and sequels, but horror tends to fare better IMO. I liked the remakes of “Friday the 13th” which Michael Bay also produced, but this one was more on par with his other horror remake production credit, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” It was visually very stunning, and I liked the “reimagined” Freddy, but it felt kind of flat and was lacking in tension.
October 14, 2010 at 12:38 am #9120I saw the Social Network last week. I thought it was amazing. Even Justin Timberlake didn't fail me. Every actor did a good job.

It goes without saying that the original is the best, but I was surprised how good the movie is considering Michael Bay is involved (and also surprised there was no major explosions for the same reason ha ha) and loved the new Freddy, Jackiw Earle Haley did a good job being kinda creepy, and the makeup looked pretty cool, although I wish they had done a totally new story and not really try to base it one the original (a lot of nods to that movie).
October 21, 2010 at 5:53 am #9122Wrong Turn 2!! i love horror movies! 😀
October 21, 2010 at 10:15 pm #9123Yam – That episode of Family Guy was banned in the US. I think that was the only country that banned it.

October 24, 2010 at 3:45 pm #9124I watched “A Girl Cut in Two” again a couple of nights ago. Imagine a classical styled French film with modern twists, and that's basically what you have here. Ludivine Sagnier is heart-breakingly good…fair warning…this film is emotionally brutal, but elegantly done.
