Hello !
First of all i’m not a native English speaker. So i apologise for the grammar mistakes i am going to do in that reply. For last three years my sleep schedule became so bad. I did sleep at 5 A.M and sleep until 2 or 3. PM but i was not feeling bad or having trouble getting in sleep during these 2 years. But Last year my insomania started. My major problem was falling a sleep in bed , it’s been hours to fall a sleep and how much i try to fix my sleep schedule i couldn’t manage to fix it because i can’t get sleep in the time i wan’t.But than i saw the Martin Reed’s videos on the youtube and he help me a lot. During these last 3 days i can manage to fall a sleep in a 10 or 20 minutes without having any trouble (Thanks to him and God !) But the only thing reamains and worries me is the amount of the sleep i had , because i can only manage to sleep 4 or 5 hours at day. I am going to bed at 10 PM and woke up at 2 A.M it’s became a habbit for me. My eyes just opens at the same time and i could not fall back to sleep during these 3 days. Should i need to worried about this ?Thank you.
November 1, 2021 at 1:20 pm #47958Hi @RavenOfNight, glad to hear you’ve improved your sleep! Since watching Martin’s videos, what techniques have you began to implement to improve your sleep recently? The amount of sleep someone needs differs from person-to-person. The best gauge for how much sleep you need is how you feel the following day.
When you wake in the middle of the night, are you having anxious thoughts or are you relaxed?

November 1, 2021 at 6:27 pm #47978Hello @scottctj ! Thank you for replying me.
Martin’s baloons video did help me well. While he was explaning the sleep drive i realize i was doing somethings wrong. Because whenever i could not sleep or sleep a little in a day i take a nap like a 1 or 2 hours so that’s cause me feels awake in the next night. So i started to build up sleep drive. Begining to jog at every morning and trying to be more active and its really help me a lot.
The thing is no i’m not feeling anxious throught the night because i am so tired i was not having a time to think about these things but feeling anxious throught the morning sometimes. I know i should have not think about this. I know sleeping a 4 or 5 hours a day for a week does not make die or something. But i have a OCD and even i know how much foolish of these questions are i can’t help it ! It’s stills concern me. Can’t say i’m feeling so tired or bad thourght the day because of my sleep amount but i’m worried because 5 days ago i always sleept 6 , 7 or even 8 hours thourght the day.
November 2, 2021 at 4:54 am #47990I’m glad you found that video on sleep drive beneficial! His library of videos are very educational and I’d consider them to be a toolkit for anyone with sleep disruption issues. Since one of the goals with the sleep restriction window is to build a strong sleep drive, it’s usually helpful to avoid daytime naps since they can greatly diminish your sleep drive. It sounds like you’re making great progress in restoring your sleep!

November 2, 2021 at 5:06 am #47994Hello!
Your sleep will take care of itself as long as you stick to a regular bedtime schedule consistently. Don’t give up now. It can take a few weeks for it to settle down so try to be as patient and consistent as you can. The important thing also is try not to stress over one or several days of poor sleep, this is normal! Have faith and you should do quite well. Best wishes!November 2, 2021 at 5:25 am #48000Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me ! I was kind a feeling down and anxious today. But speaking people like you really encoureges me. I appreciate that. I am going to do my best !

Thank you for replying me and sharing your opinion with me.
Your supports means a lot for me , this community is my hero because sometimes i feel like no one is understanding what i have been thourght , i mean thank you so much ! I’m going to try my best to stick to the plan. 🙂November 2, 2021 at 3:41 pm #48017Hello!
Good luck to you. And please don’t think poor sleep is something bad and needs to be avoided at all costs! Because it’s normal and everyone gets them occasionally. It’s your response and overreaction to it that continues the struggle, try not to fall into this trap! It can get difficult sometimes, but in general, adopt an accepting, open mind, welcome both good and bad nights as well as both good and bad thoughts, but try not to do anything or overthink about them and just let them pass, you will be very successful. Ultimately you will reach a stage where you don’t think your sleep is broken and poor sleep doesn’t terrify you anymore. Best wishes. -
