My answer to this one would be yes — because the body will always generate, at the very least, the bare minimum amount of sleep we need. With that in mind, we can survive indefinitely with whatever sleep the body generates.
Often it’s our (quite understandable!) desire to get more sleep that makes it harder for the body to generate more than the bare minimum of sleep because our desire creates worse conditions for sleep by doing things like weakening our sleep drive, disrupting our body clock, and strengthening the arousal system.
