      Hi. I’m a bit confused about whether I should continue with a sleep diary in view of Martin’s advice that focussing on sleep and monitoring too much can perpetuate sleep anxiety (which I can understand entirely).

      Before I found Martin’s great advice on YT I had been following CBTi described in
      Dr Gregg Jacobs’ book ‘Say Goodnight to Insomnia’ and have been keeping a sleep diary for the last three weeks, with another 3 weeks to go, as he advised.

      However, in view of the fact that my sleep issue is constantly on my mind anyway I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to continue with it or not.

      Any comments would be gratefully received.

        This is completely up to you — it’s not required, and I have worked with clients who found it far more helpful not to keep any kind of sleep diary whatsoever.
