Sleep restriction?

      Hello!

      I’ve had insomnia for almost 4 months. I have been trying to lie in bed and focus on rest and relaxation when I can’t sleep. Eventually I drift off but after hours. I get into bed around 10 pm and it’s not until 2ish I’m ready to crash and my mind surrenders to sleep. Should I use sleep restriction?

      I feel like my mind is conditioned to stay awake on nights I feel triggered. It’s like watching a TV show over and over. I know how the night is going to go. I’m so tired of it.

        Hello Erica and thanks for the great question! Are you truly sleepy enough for sleep when you go to bed? If not, you might be going to bed before you are ready for sleep to happen.

        What time do you usually get out of bed to start your day in the morning? How many hours of sleep would you say you get on an average night?
