Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone can help?

Hope all is well. I’ve been watching Martin’s videos for the past week as I’ve been suffering from a bad bout of insomnia that I believe may be turning into a psychophysiological insomnia as I’ve noticed my body becoming tense, aroused and anxious as soon as I get into bed and worries surrounding sleep and this has been ongoing after the initial trigger for the insomnia went away.

I want to start implementing the sleep restriction and stimulus control as I believe I’ve created that negative association of my bed and sleep with wakefulness/anxiety. My question is and I hope anyone can help is, do I implement the sleep restriction in conjunction with the stimulus control?

or do I start with sleep restriction then implement stimilus control later on?

      Hope anyone can help

You can do both at the same time; you can have an earliest possible bedtime (and only go to bed when sleepy enough for sleep) and get out of bed at the same time each day — and you can do something more appealing whenever nighttime wakefulness feels really unpleasant.
