Your fears and worries are completely valid, understandable, and normal. What I can tell you is that there’s no evidence chronic insomnia causes any health problem whatsoever. What I can also tell you is that anxiety doesn’t stop sleep from happening — but struggling with it, trying to fight or avoid it, sure can make things a lot more difficult (it sounds as though you’ve learned that from experience).
