      Hi everyone,

I started with CBT-I and doing SR and SC for 2 weeks and things just gor much worse.
My sleep drive has increased enormously during evening, just before my sleep window (12:30am to 5:30am), but when my sleep window comes, I get totally alert and cant fall asleep, so I get out of bed and go to the sofa in the living room and just relax there, with no TV and lights off, however I can only get sleepy enough to go back to bed when its around 4:00am, which is 1.5h before the end of my sleep window.
I am going for many days with 1 to 1.5h of sleep per night but my sleep drive doesnt seem to win in the end.
      Anybody has had similar experience?
Would CBT-I still work in my case of such severe insomnia?

Your experience is not unusual. Feeling sleepy before the sleep window, then alert when the sleep window begins is a classic symptom of conditioned arousal — one of the three forms of arousal that evidence-based cognitive and behavioral techniques help tackle. It will take time and consistent implementation of what you’re learning to get consistent results, so I encourage you to keep looking forward and see each night as a fresh start!
