It’s been three months since I finished Martin’s sleep coaching program. I’m happy to report that I’m sleeping normally after several previous months of insomnia. I’ve learned so much about how to approach sleep, especially when I have a less than ideal night here and there. Though I never believed it possible, I don’t think about sleep during the day anymore, except in passing. Don’t give up! It took me quite some time to see my sleep anxiety dissipate–even after I began sleeping better. It will lessen in time if you address your actual fear instead of trying to avoid it. Telling yourself the truth is the best thing you can do. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” He was, of course, right.

        Great to hear it, congrats?

May I ask you: how did u deal (face) your sleep anxiety? Was your anxiety severe? I am struggling right now, because my sleep anxiety is back again and it is very high.

To be honest, it came down to recognizing that my sleep anxiety was just regular anxiety that had attached itself to the issue of sleep. As a Christian, I believe God controls all things, ultimately, and that he is in the business of setting people free from their sometimes self-induced mental prisons. I had lost sight of that. My story is strange in that my sleep anxiety was very strong and lasted long after I had implemented Martin’s sleep techniques. And then one day it simply lessened about 85%. Yes, it felt that sudden. It has returned only very occasionally and it’s weak and unconvincing when it does try to return. I’d be happy to talk with you about it privately over email, if you’re interested. You can reach me at hrthurman@yahoo,.com

              Hello Hannah
Thank you for sharing. And that was a great podcast with Martin in youtube, I watched it until the very last minute eventhough I am fully recovered myself. The one thing you said that hit home for me, “…but I have to say over time, I do not remember when it happened, I did start to care a little bit less about sleeping… I didn’t do any tricking of my mind. It just over time, it just happened. I just started realizing.” Sleep problems primarily exist from an unhealthy obessesion over it and the overdoing of things to try to control sleep. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning, I hope you read this all on this thread .. I love that Hannah quoted Bible verses I believe in the Lord too.
I love what Chee2308 wrote too. I really do believe the key is to concentrate on your life while you’re awake not your sleep . Don’t chase sleep, let’s sleep chase you . And obsessing over sleep and overdoing things during the day so you can sleep is the problem. AMEN
