      hi ive been taken sleeping pills for a long period  of time but there were moments that even with sleeping pills cant sleep well. At night time i am always scared that night may pass without having sleep. My option was to take more sleeping pills but at the same time i am worried up to what extent are the  sleepings  pills take me. I feel my muscles are getting weak which i felt bec of taling  sleeping pills. Pls advice me what to do on how to fet rid of the sleepingpills gradually

        Welcome to the forum, Jocorro and I am sorry to hear about your struggles with sleep. As I think you are realizing, sleeping pills are not a long-term solution for insomnia since they don’t address the root cause of insomnia.

        If you are keen to get off the sleeping pills, I would suggest looking into cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and, as you regain confidence in your ability to sleep, you might want to talk to your doctor about a tapering-off plan for the pills.
