      Hello All, I am hopeful!

      Let’s see, it all started Jan 2021- I had an old root canal tooth extracted, two days later all hell broke loose. Bizarre neuro issues and sleep stated slipping. Fast forward to March 2021, Lyme test- POSITIVE- hormone tests- 0 and thyroid numbers falling. Summer 2021 was treated for Lyme via Hyperthermia- it worked! Since then I have tested again and they showed no active infection whereas before it was CDC positive. I am presently doing much, much better except for sleep although it has greatly improved, as there were stretches where I would not sleep for weeks, now, I go for a couple of days.

      Some nights I can fall sleep, others not. Some nights I manage to get blocks of sleep. I almost always wake frequently and hardy ever feel rested- massive fatigue and anxiety about feeling all this.

      A friend told me about Wake Therapy, I tried it this week and for the past 72 hours have gotten 6 hours- no bueno!

      So, I’m here for support and fellowship as well as any information.

        Welcome to the forum, thanks for sharing your story! I’m glad to read that you’re well from the Lyme disease now!

        On the nights you can’t fall asleep – can you point to something specific that might trigger it, such as anxiety, going to bed before you’re sleepy, etc? Waking during the night is a normal part of our sleep. It becomes difficult for us to fall back to sleep when we try to avoid nighttime wakefulness. If you wake during the night, you might feel the urge to put unnecessary pressure on yourself to fall back to sleep and that can perpetuate the problem. What is your current bedtime at night and when do you get out of bed in the morning?

          Hello Scott, Thank you for your reply. I have been implemented Bed Restriction for the past week. First, I started with the “Big Guns” staying awake for 36 hours and going to bed at 3, waking at 7. It was too extreme for me at this point. So now I’m still playing around with time to bed ( only when I’m sleepy) but I always wake at 7. Currently, I head to Bed around 11 ish and if I do not fall alseep or get a panicked rush, or anxiety I get up or sit up and read, go outside, watch breathing videos. It seems to be helping block the sleep time for longer lengths. I know it’s early yet but I’m excited to see any sort of improvements. I am grateful for this group.
