Im just so tired and fatigued I dont know if Im doing CBT-I properly. I dont go to bed until i feel tired (i try to not go to bed till after 2am) but my arousal system is so high i just cant fall asleep – despite being actually tired (not keeping head up due to sleepiness etc.) but when i cant fall asleep i get out of bed, and it leads me to being so depressed because i just want this to be over. i dont know how to deal with such a high arousal system / fight or flight. last night i only got 4 hours sleep, but i got up at the same time (9am), went about my day like it was totally normal, and was sure i’d sleep tonight because of my sleep drive, but here i am at 5am not sleeping. i really dont want to loose hope with the CBT-i techniques, ive only been implementing them properly (or trying to) for about a week or 2 now (really loosing track because i dont want to know how many weeks ive been loosing sleep for now).

      please please help

      thanks

      amanda
