I have been struggling to go to bed and feel wide awake at night despite feeling super tired throughout the day. I lay awake in bed for hours and occasionally fall asleep and have a dream. I think what keeps me up at night are my thoughts and worries about not getting enough sleep. Right now as I am writing this it’s the next morning after another sleepless night I am very tired. Should I take a nap or just be tired until I can sleep at night?

If your goal is to sleep at night, it can be helpful to avoid daytime naps (unless needed for safety) in order to “bank” that sleep drive for the nighttime hours.

Have you tried implementing any techniques such as sleep restriction to help create better conditions for sleep?
