I was in pretty rough shape before I took the course. My sleep was out of control and I was experiencing severe anxiety. I started taking prescription medication for anxiety and sleep and I hung in there and did the best I could. I graduated from the course about two months ago. Things are going well. I’m off the medication. I’m sleeping on my own, and I feel good. I feel WAY better than I did before.

Excellent for you! I too have recovered from insomnia. I am much more educated and aware about sleep. I now sleep very soundly, in fact, I sleep even better than before my insomnia!

Sleep education was very helpful. Learning about sleep pressure and circadian rhythm. Bedtime restriction helped a lot, but things really started to change when I got into sleep reconditioning. I had heard someone talking about it on tv. They didn’t call it sleep reconditioning though, and they didn’t explain it very well. I remember them saying something about getting out of bed if can’t sleep and going back to bed when you feel sleepy, and that was about it. It wasn’t until I understood the reconditioning part that I started to see the bigger picture. That was a significant turning point for me. It was also very helpful to have an out of bed activity that I enjoyed and didn’t mind getting out of bed for. For me it was drawing.
