Alright, so this is happening to me about once or twice a week; about 2-5 hours after I fall asleep, and sometimes (but rarely) even before I get to fall asleep, I get this really strange sensation in my head and ears, I can’t really describe it. I hear a complete amalgamation of random noises in my head, a bunch of loud sounds mixed with some sort of vertigo but not exactly, it’s like I’m underwater, or like when you hold your nose and blow into it, plus I feel dizzy too and if I don’t wake up (which I’m always able to do, but I’m too tired to even try), my ears start to hurt, not from the noise, but from that sensation. It’s really hard to explain. And these loud noises sound really f-ing realistic, like they’re right in the room with me. Sometimes it’s voices, calm or (most of the time) aggressive, last time I heard windchimes, sometimes it’s music… I can control what I hear as well, I just have to think of it and I hear it in 3d form, it sounds VERY realistic; I tried experimenting with it but it’s so uncomfortable and painful even to stay asleep, as I said, not from the sounds but the sensation in my head. I don’t like it, I wish I wouldn’t have to wake up all the time from this sh*t…
I’ve read about exploding head syndrome, tinnitus and sleep paralysis, and I feel like it’s neither of those. In fact it was only recently that for the first time I’ve heard a loud explosion in my head that caused me to wake up, probably because I read too much about EHS and I unintentionally thought about it while experiencing this again. I’m really trying to find someone who’s having the same problem as me but I can’t. Anybody know what could cause this? Perhaps it’s a sign of schizophrenia?
P.S. I noticed that it usually happens when I’m very tired (but not necessarily).
