Well, I know that if you suffer from insomnia, it can get you down. It can wear you down, and obviously it can tire you down.

But instead of focusing on the bad, let's focus on something good for a change.

Has anything good happened to you late at night/early in the morning that you'd have otherwise missed if you didn't have Insomnia?

A couple of years ago it was nearing on 3.30 AM, I couldn't sleep as usual, it was a Friday night. I was bored on the computer, nowt on the TV, so I decided to take my dog for a walk to the 24/7 garage for something to eat and a couple cans of beer. While I was there I met a few old school mates I hadn't seen for 8 or 9 years, they'd just got back from a nightclub and was at the garage buying snacks too, was brilliant seeing them, anyway they weren't calling it a night they were going back to Ricky's flat for a few more bevvies and a laugh, invited me along and said it was fine to bring my dog.

Had a good night that night was one of the best laughs I'd had in ages, few drinks, music, played each other on the Wii, they conked off at around 7ish at which point I quietly left with my dog back home where I laid on the sofa and also dropped off.

If I didn't have insomnia I'd have missed that. 😀

Love the positivity of this one! I know a lot of our members are writers and artists who use their sleeplessness as inspiration.

I like catching star shows on a clear, sleepless night. In a way, it's a shame that we're designed to miss the night sky!

Oh yes, definitely, I love that about the night too, recently I've been taking my dog for a walk at 3/4 AM. The cool, clean, unpolluted air of the night, the stars, the quiet solace.. there really is a poetic beauty somewhere there in the night. Brings us back down to Earth and reminds us that what we stress about during the day.. really isn't that important.
