Split sleep schedule

      Anyone else here sleep in two “shifts”? I’m a lifelong insomniac, 65 & retired. Working with a therapist, my goal is 6 hours of sleep a night. I’m used to getting out of bed for an hour or two at about 3 am, then going back to sleep until about 7, and I’m ok with that. Therapist says not to sleep more than 3 hours in the first shift, or Imight not be able to fall asleep again. So I’m trying a sleep schedule of 11-2 and 3-6, no naps. Curious to know if others have tried similar sleep schedules & if it worked for them.
