      Hi everybody!
My name is Marie-Pier, 30, (from canada), i’ve been strugguling with insomnia on and off since a younger age, but since 3 weeks now it seems that i completely forgot how to sleep… i guess stress and anxiety are stopping me from falling asleep, because everytime i’m close to fall my body is waking me up with spasm and my heart starts racing. I was able, at 5 this morning, after getting out of laying in bed all night trying to fall asleep to get 45 minutes of Real calm/sleep after watching one of Martin’s video about the body waking us up when close to fall asleep… it sounds crazy but i feel like it’s a small victory since the past nights i just couldn’t do that at all. Looking forward to interacting with some of You!

        Hi Marie,

I am in a similar situation just a bit older than you, I am 41. Within the last month I seemed to forget how to sleep too. This seems to be a common thing as you will see in this forum. It does helps to see we are not alone. I came across Martins videos and found the testimonials helpful. It’s funny there are sorta rules in place to get to sleep but they do masks sense I definitely related to the things some of the people were doing to get to sleep. I wish you the best of luck but just wanted to say you are not alone and we will get through this sleep thing 🙂

Thank You Dan for sharing, definately helps to see that we are not alone 🙂
I did also relate to the podcast… lots of the things that people are saying and doing just reminded me so much of myself…
I think the key for me is to manage to control my anxiety, to let go and relax, then im 99% conviced a big part of the work will be done.
Wish You the best of luck too Dan, we are capable of sleeping and we will sleep 🙂 in the mean Time, we are alive and i think that this is worth of remembering ?

Yes I can relate to anxiety as I didn’t suffer from anxiety until I started not sleeping. Once bed time comes it has created an anxiety from me but I’m trying not to think of that and focus on my day during the day. As the videos have said sleep will come. Your body will eventually sleep no matter what. Seems to be a mind set of not thinking about our sleep now. Yes!
We are alive and will remain alive just a bump in the road as I like to say :). Life isn’t always perfect just have to tackle these things that come up in life once in awhile and deal with them the best way we can 🙂 Marie, if you ever need someone to talk to about this or vent feel free to send me a message. We will get through this!

Hi Marie, I saw your post that you are having anxiety. Anxiety and sleep do not go together. First you have to remove the Anxiety by practicing a technique called alternate nostril breathing this relaxes the brain and then slowly you can go to sleep.

Don’t try to sleep hard and just say to yourself that you are going to the bed to take the well deserved relaxation that you need after the day. You are going to relax.

Thank You Dan, Hope You had a good night!! 🙂 i’ve listenned to an audio book last night before going to bed that one of the other person had mentionned on the forum, it’s called « dare the new way to end anxiety » and honestly i was obviously extremely tired after a few nights of almost no sleep but i must say that i slept really well. It helped me to understand to welcome the anxiety related to my bed instead of fighting it. If You can listen to it, i would recommend it :).
                      Wishing You a good day!

Good morning Marie! That’s great you slept well! I hear ya on that one I had a couple of bad nights to and slept pretty good last night too. Is the Audio book from this site or somewhere else? I’ll have to check it out. After some bad nights sleep i was starting to dread bed time but trying to change that. Let me know where to find it if you get a minute I’ll check it out. Have a great day! 🙂

                              Hi Marie!

Thank you very much I will check it out. I was actually thinking about reading at night or doing something other than watching tv to see if that will help. I’ll check it out tonight! Thanks again! 🙂 I’m in the US but I’m sure I’ll be able to find it.
