I think this is so weird and I am hoping somebody has an idea of what is happening and how I might be able to stop it happening.

Just recently when I am dropping off to sleep I am waking up doing what feels like a long single sit up. I am in no pain but it’s like my life depends on doing this sit up. It happens if I am on my back or side and can happen several times before I eventually fall asleep.

I practice mindfulness most nights and have identified some things that stop me sleeping. These are diet high in carbs, multivits (managed to single out D and Bs so far), any light whatsoever and heat.

I get the falling sensation sometimes that jolts you awake and it is nothing like that.

I get irritable leg syndrome and I have ME.

Anyone got any idea what is and how I can stop it?

      Thanks x

I’m not a doctor but I wonder if this could be a symptom of restless legs syndrome (RLS). Although symptoms of RLS typically occur in the legs (hence the name), they can occur in other parts of the body. You may want to discuss this with your doctor.
