      It has been over 3 months after taken Martin’s course. I really encourage anyone who has been struggling with insomnia to take the first step – register for the course.

      Before taken the course, I had difficulty fall asleep and has been getting 0-3 hours sleep per night for almost 3 months. Anxiety and arousal was with me day and night. I did what most of insomniac would do such as googling, trying different sleep effort, cancelling events even gave up my joy to insomnia. Until one day I watched Martin’s video and learned about CBTI. Then I signed up with a local CBTI therapist, however, the plans/approaches didn’t work for me; Also my sleep and anxiety got even worse. I decided to try Martin’s course, it’s completely different approach and the technique he provided are very useful. Now on average I can sleep from 6 to 7 hours per night. I still experience some difficult nights and anxiety from time to time, but Martin’s course/ technique help me with those nights. Most important lesson I learned from Martin is that you can’t control sleep, but you can control your life that is continuing to do things that are aligned with your values and that keep you moving toward the desired life you want to live.

        Thanks for the update!

        I appreciated you sharing that big insight at the end of your post — that shifting focus onto the things that are within your control, and continuing to do things that matter (no matter how small) can often be more helpful than struggling with all the difficult stuff that’s out of your control!

        I am sure others will also find it reassuring that after CBT-I didn’t prove to be helpful for you, you were still able to find an approach that was!
