Always a great sleeper, suddenly in Dec had a sleepless nite and since then have not been able to get back to my restful relaxed state of good sleep , only had this once before 12 years ago and it resolved after jet lag. I’m trying everything and it’s so challenging

One sleepless night can generate some anxiety about our sleep but the issue can perpetuate when we change our thoughts and behaviors towards sleep. What issue are you experiencing with your sleep now?

I normally fall asleep then wake after a couple hours then can’t get back to sleep, sometimes I can with a sleep podcast, for another little bit. I feel like some new pattern is there and it’s the opposite of my easy sleep I got all my life, like my body is hyper vigilant

Often that hypervigilance occurs because we have a strong desire to make sleep happen or otherwise avoid nighttime wakefulness. Sometimes a more effective approach is to give wakefulness permission to happen — when we are less concerned about being awake, we create better conditions for sleep to occur!
