Insominia isn’t fun. It steals your joy, makes you anxious, tires you out!!!
Through my journey with imsomnia (10yrs) I have found that it changes from time to time. Mostly I wake up at night and find it difficult to fall back to sleep. Sometimes I have gone through times when I can’t get to sleep.
But know with Gods helpI ,through Martin’s coaching that I can sleep. You see most of my sleep problems came from the way i was thinking about sleep. I mean, i was thinking that i was going to awaken again tonight or why do i constantly awaken at night. These thoughts would pop into my mind often during the day or when i walked into my bedroom and would sometimes get worse at night! These thoughts would sometimes cause anxiety, keeping me from sleep!! It seemed that the harder that I tried to not think of sleep the more I would think of it, yikes, it would drive me nuts. Martin explained that how you think, can affect how you think! So if you let your mind to constantly go to a place of turmoil then you will constantly think of that turmoil.
In other words, what you think is who or what you are. If you always think of bad sleep then you will sleep bad.
The Bible (Gods word through man) tells us that we can control our mind but we need his help and all we need to do is ask and apply Gods word.
God most often uses people like Martin, or doctors,to help us get from a bad place to a better place.
Through the tools God gave Martin and the way Martin explained my insominia I can now sleep much better and am able to think way less about sleep. It takes hard work but changing the way you think and the tools Martin will give you will help you sleeeeep

Thanks for sharing, Eric! As you pointed out, the way we think about sleep can generate so much worry and anxiety and this can really disrupt sleep!

So, the less we can worry about sleep, the more accepting we can be of the sleep we get, and the less effort we put into sleep, the better we usually sleep!

I’m glad to hear how well you’re doing — all your improvements are down to your own efforts to change the way you think about sleep and to implement helpful sleep-related behaviors that give sleep the best chance possible!
