With a rich and meaningful life come difficult thoughts, difficult feelings, and disrupted sleep! Is it possible to live the kind of life we want to live, to achieve meaningful things, and do things that matter without the presence of all the difficult stuff that comes with it?
Can parents experience a life without anxiety? Can doctors experience a life without stress? Can athletes experience a life without pressure? Probably not — but people who choose to be parents, who choose to be doctors, who choose to be athletes are still living the kind of life they want to live, even in the presence of those difficult feelings.
I wonder if refocusing on being in Europe, doing work that (hopefully!) you find meaningful might be helpful here. Only you can decide if your current career is something that keeps you moving toward the kind of life you want to live and the person you want to be — if it’s not, then perhaps it might be worth exploring a change there?
